Discover the Best Local Coffee Shops in Port Moody
Port Moody has a fantastic local coffee scene with plenty of spots to satisfy your caffeine cravings, whether you’re looking for a cozy nook to relax in or a quick stop for a coffee on the go. In this post, I’ll walk you through some of my favorite coffee shops in the area, where I’ve enjoyed everything from artisan lattes to freshly baked pastries.

Black Sugar Coffee House
Nestled on St. John Street, Black Sugar Coffee House is a cozy little gem that’s perfect for a relaxing break in your day. It’s the kind of place that gives off that perfect movie-vibe on a cold, rainy day—a place you can escape to, watch the world go by, and sip on something warm. Open Tuesday through Friday, this shop serves up delicious coffee, tea, matcha, and smoothies, along with a variety of gluten-free and Vegan pastries and savoury bites. If you’re visiting with kids, you’ll love their little children’s station, complete with books and toys. This makes Black Sugar a great option for parents who need a moment of calm while keeping their little ones entertained.

What makes this café extra special is its support for local artists. The walls are adorned with beautiful artwork, all available for purchase. Whether you’re there for the coffee or to browse local art, this cozy spot has something for everyone.

Honey Café
Honey Café is a brand-new addition to Port Moody, and it’s already creating quite the buzz—literally! They specialize in honey-sweetened beverages and offer local honey sourced from a bee farm in Pitt Meadows. You can choose to sweeten your coffee or tea with their honey for a unique, local twist on your drink.

The café itself is bright and welcoming, with a modern design that invites you to sit and stay awhile. There’s outdoor seating for those sunny days, and inside, you’ll find tables perfect for sipping a drink while playing chess or catching up with friends.

I had the pleasure of visiting during their soft opening, and the service was top-notch. Despite a small hiccup with my yogurt with bee pollen order, the barista was quick to remake it and even offered me a jar of honey as a gift!
Don’t miss their digital menu, where you can browse and even purchase their selection of local honey to take home! check their social media here!

Grit Studio
Grit Studio isn’t your average coffee shop. Located in an old heritage house, this café doubles as a gallery and boutique for local art and handmade goods. Walking in feels like stepping into a creative haven, with art lining the walls and unique products available for purchase.

In addition to their artistic vibe, Grit Studio offers a range of sweet and savoury baked goods. My personal favourite is their salami toast—a perfect balance of flavours that’s both satisfying and delicious. If you’re looking for more than just coffee, this is the spot where creativity and caffeine come together for a truly unique experience. Check them out!

Kaffi Espresso Bar
Kaffi Espresso Bar is the kind of place where locals gather to soak up the sun while enjoying their morning coffee. With a laid-back neighborhood vibe, it’s easy to feel like a regular here. Their outdoor seating area is perfect for people-watching or chatting with friends on a sunny day.
Kaffi’s pastries are a work of art, especially their colorful macarons and delicate floral-topped cakes. However, the star of the show has to be their ricotta cheese pancakes—light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet or savory, Kaffi has you covered.

Sweet Talk Café
If you have a sweet tooth, Sweet Talk Café is the place to be. Known for their amazing donuts, just a few steps away from Moody Centre station this modern and minimalist café is more of a grab-and-go spot, but the flavours are unforgettable. Whether you’re popping in for a quick treat or picking up a box to take home, you won’t regret stopping by. Trust me—these donuts are some of the best in town! now offering breakfast sandwiches, check their drooling social media here!
Coming Soon: Little Beans Coffee Shop
I also want to give a shout-out to Little Beans, another great spot around the corner. I won’t go into too much detail now because I’ll be featuring them in an upcoming post dedicated to kid-friendly coffee shops. So stay tuned for that!

Let me know in the comments if there’s a coffee shop in Port Moody that I need to check out. I’m always on the hunt for more local favourites!
